Book Review: Make Huge Profits Selling One Item On Ebay
I received an email from the author of this eBook that he had just released it and was offering it for free right now. Many authors do this on Amazon in order to generate some quick sales and hopefully reviews that will later drive traffic when the eBook is back at regular price. The first thing you will notice is that the eBook is 12 pages. This is a plus in my mind, because my time is valuable and I do not want to waste it reading filler information. I would presume that most of the people buying an eBook like this would also like the brevity of it, that is assuming the content is worthwhile.
So that is the real question, is the content of this eBook worth you buying it?
Please keep in mind that depending on your screen size and settings, the pages may be numbered differently for you. My Kindle was charging when I bought the eBook, so I just read it using the Amazon Kindle Cloud Reader on my PC. The first page was a legal disclaimer, a long one. The second page was the Table of Contents which was two lines (I am not sure why a 12 page eBook would even need a Table of Contents, except to make sure it was not an 11 page eBook.
The first page of actual content has the author in the first paragraph explain how they have made nice profits and have eBay Powerseller and Top Rated Seller status. This is normal for any eBook in this genre, as the author tries to establish why you should listen to their advice. It is brief. This first page gets right into the product he suggests buying and reselling for profit on eBay. I must admit that I have never even thought about this item before. I, of course, am not going to reveal the item here, because I do not think that is fair to the author.
In the next few pages they deal with their method for attaining a large amount of this item for the lowest price. They also mention some questions to ask the seller to avoid buying products that cannot be sold on eBay. They even give you the exact prices they pay and for what versions of the item, so this would be very helpful to those just starting out who may not be good at determining a base wholesale price for items in general.
They mention the exact brands of the item and the average prices they are selling for. While this is good information, you should research the average selling prices yourself before you start buying. DO NOT just take anything you read at face value! Make sure you have made an informed decision. If you are not sure how to find out what an item is selling for on eBay then go to eBay, search for the item, and on the left hand side there is a filter to search by “Sold Listings,” as seen in the screen shot I took below. Please note, it does not matter what price people are listing the item at, the only price you are concerned about is the actual price sellers are getting when the item sells. Looking at just the price sellers are listing items for and not the actual prices the items go for when selling is a basic mistake people new to eBay makes, and it can cost you a lot of money.
They mention using a subtitle for your listing of this item, but in my experience the subtitle is a waste of money. It is only useful if you cannot communicate the content of the listing in the main title, which is not common. With this item I cannot see much need for a subtitle. The eBook further explains what quantity of the item they have found is best to list in a listing. They also mention some complimentary items to give to your buyers as a free gift, which is a practice I like to follow myself. A small gift included with each sale can ease some tension if there happens to be a problem with an order.
They finish the short eBook by mentioning the size of padded envelopes and the shipping method they use.
When I bought the book is was free, so it is obviously worth that price. Amazon’s “Digital List Price” is $2.99 for this eBook. For $2.99 I would say this is a great buy. The little research I did found that this item sells VERY well on eBay. The main thing will be the ease of attaining it through the methods they give and for the prices they mention. If you can acquire the item fairly easily and for the prices they mention then it should be a very profitable item. If you cannot then it will be of no use to you. This item is in such common usage all over the United States and many parts of the world that it should be pretty easy to acquire. You or a family member may even get this item for free each month and be able to turn it around for a profit.
